You’ll select two concentrations from more than 40 available options, with advisors available to help you choose the ones best for you. It's an ideal program for those who are undecided on a major or want to pursue multiple areas of study.

A culminating experience with a focus on experiential learning
IDS 401 is the program’s culminating experience in which you’ll arrange, plan and execute a learning project. Throughout this course, you’ll be guided in applying, analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating interdisciplinary concepts to a real-world problem.

Will my diploma say ‘online’?
No, Arizona State University’s diplomas don’t specify whether you earn your degree online or in person. All diplomas and transcripts simply say “Arizona State University.”

Your coursework is anchored by two interdisciplinary studies core courses. The rest of your coursework is customizable depending on your two concentrations and the elective courses of your choosing. You’re considered a first-year student for application purposes if you’ve never attended college or have fewer than 12 transferable credit hours.
